The DC Electronics Microsteer MGU is a compact and efficient unit designed for limited space installations. It is a universal EPAS system that is convenient for classic and kit cars. Its compact motor gearbox unit has front and rear mounting points, allowing for easy integration into the existing steering column. This makes it particularly useful for tighter installations where space is a concern.
DC Electronics Microsteer is a universal fit Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) system.
The Microsteer MGU (EPAS200) has maximum torque output of 32Nm (24lb. Ft) plus the driver input. To make sure this kit will best suit your application it is recommended that you test your current manual steering system torque. This is easily done by using a torque wrench on the steering wheel lock nut, with the vehicle on the ground and stationary, turn the steering wheel using the torque wrench and record the torque required to turn the steering. This test is a good indicator of what torque your have and what kit will fit best your vehicle requirements. If your current manual steering system is below 32Nm then the Microsteer kit will work well.

Installation is easy
The MGU is designed to be fitted in line with the existing steering column by removing a section of column and inserting the MGU in its place. The MGU can be mounted via the front or rear 3 x M8 mounting holes. You just need to fabricate suitable brackets to mount the MGU orientation that best suits your application.
Please Note – All mounting brackets must be designed to take full torsional forces generated by the system. – a tensional force in excess of 60Nm/45lb.ft. can easily be generated by the driver and steering system combined.
