Many individuals have experienced overheating issues after changing their radiator on a turbocharged Subaru due to trapped air in the cooling system. This happens because the radiator filler neck is not the highest point, with the turbo charger being located above it. To solve this, Subaru has implemented the ECFT, which allows for air to escape and the cooling system to be filled like a traditional system. However, for those with a rotated turbo setup, the turbo inlet and piping may interfere with the ECFT. While some have successfully removed it, this is not the recommended solution as success is uncertain. Another option is relocating the OEM tank to a different area in the engine bay, such as the firewall or strut towers, through the use of fabricated brackets. However, this can be a complicated and less effective solution, requiring longer lines that may still trap air and additional tools and materials for fabrication. To avoid these difficulties, the most effective solution is the Killer B Upper Turbo Coolant Reservoir V2!
