BC Racing BR Series

BC RACING BR SERIES FEATURES
46mm diameter pistons / 53mm diameter damper body
The BC Racing BR series coilovers are similar to the V1 series coilover kits but use a larger 46mm diameter piston in a 53mm diameter damper body to maximize the oil capacity. The larger outer shafts also give additional strength enabling them to cope with higher side loads.

      BC Racing ER Series

      The BC Racing ER series coilover again uses a large monotube damper, but uses large external reservoirs front and rear. The ER series also features 30 clicks of independent compression and rebound adjustment allowing greater fine tuning. The external reservoirs hold much more oil than the BR and RM Coilover ranges, allowing the ER Series coilover to operate in high stress conditions for a much longer period of time before overheating. Rebound adjustment is done on the main damper body, with the compression adjustment done on the external reservoirs. The ER Series includes BC Racing's trademark full length height adjustment system. The ER Series is for those wanting the ultimate in control for their high performance road car, or for track focused vehicles.

        BC Racing HM Series

        The BC Racing HM Series Coilover System gets its great qualities from a combination of two previous BC Racing Coilover Systems - the RM Series and ER Series. The HM Series uses an inverted mono-tube damper, just like the RM Series, but adds the independent compression and rebound adjustment of the ER Series.

          Each HM Series Coilover System uses inverted mono-tube dampers front and rear on McPherson strut vehicles with steel braided lines leading from the top of the damper to the external reservoirs. The external reservoirs allow for a higher oil capacity with the added benefit of increased thermal dissipation, they also house the secondary damping piston.

          For Subaru’s and other McPherson suspension vehicles that are heavily tracked, the BC Racing HM Series Suspension System is definitely worth checking out!

           

          BC Racing RM Series

          The BC Racing RM Series Coilover System uses a mono-tube inverted damper in the front and rear of vehicles that use McPherson style OEM strut suspension. On vehicles that use front struts only, BC Racing provides an inverted front strut and then provides an upright BR Series damper for the rear. Inverted dampers are useful in decreasing unsprung weight by moving the greatest mass of the strut to the top where it connects to the sprung weight of the chassis, where weight can be more easily shaved.

            The BC Racing RM Series Coilover System uses a much larger inverted piston shaft that can handle higher lateral loads for longer periods of time without fatigue. These higher lateral loads are only prevalent on McPherson style strut suspension, not on Double A-Arm vehicles. 

            BC Racing ZR Series

            The BC Racing ZR Series Coilovers offer the most adjustability of any BC Racing Coilover System to date. Each ZR Series Coilover System is track tested and developed specifically for racers looking for more damping adjustability than the ER or HR Series can provide. The ZR Series offers 15-clicks of low-speed compression adjustment, 12-clicks of high-speed compression adjustment, and 30-clicks of rebound adjustment. They also offer full height adjustability independent of piston shaft travel and spring compression.

              On cars with McPherson struts, the ZR Series comes standard with an inverted mono-tube damper. The damper has a steel braided line exiting the top of the damper leading to the external reservoirs that can be remotely mounted on the chassis for easy adjustment. Cars with Double A-Arm suspension come with upright dampers. These dampers have steel braided lines or solid stems that exit the damper at the bottom and lead to the external reservoir that can be mounted under the chassis or on the shock body itself.

              *Not all vehicles allow for inverted front and rear dampers. In such cases an upright mono-tube damper will be supplied. The braided line/hard stem for the external reservoir exits the base of the damper when not inverted. Please note that not all vehicles use camber plates in the front and/or rear. In such cases pillowball top mounts are supplied in place of camber plates on HR & ZR Series Coilover Systems.

               


              STANDARD FEATURES ON ALL BC RACING COILOVERS

              Ride Height Adjustment

              BC Racing Coilovers alter ride height using an adjustable bottom mount. As ride height is set by this bottom mount rather than the spring platform your BC Racing Coilover retains full damper travel no matter what your ride height. This also allows the BC Racing Coilover spring pre-load to be set independently.

              Nitrogen-Pressurized Monotube Coilovers

              The BC Racing coilover kits use Nitrogen pressurized Monotube dampers with a large diameter pistons and bodies. Mono-tube pistons are much larger than twin-tube coilover dampers. This allows it to be more sensitive to small suspension movements . The larger outer shafts are stronger so they cope with higher side loads. Nitrogen pressurized Monotube coilover dampers give a more consistent damping performance and do not suffer from aeration or performance fade in comparison to a twin tube damper design.

              Corner Weight Adjustment

              The lower spring platforms of the BC Racing coilovers are adjustable. This allows the car to be set up for corner weighting to achieve perfect balance and ensures that maximum tyre efficiency is achieved.
              The car needs to be placing equal weight on each tyre on an axle so both front tires need to be taking equal loading as do both rears. This makes sure that both tires are doing their equal share of work when cornering which increases overall grip, maximizes corner speed and reduces lap times.

              Corrosion Protection

              The BC Racing Coilover damper units are black chromed steel to give superb durability against the weather and road salt in winter.
              The aluminum components are anodized and the steel lower mounts go through an electro-coating process followed by powder coating.

              Top mounts included on most kits

              Many of the BC Racing coilover kits come with complete with replacement top mounts. These BC Racing top mounts are either rose jointed (pillow ball) top mounts or rubber top mounts. The anodized alloy top mounts eliminate any flex or play associated with the standard rubber top mounts, improving response and handling. In addition some of the BC Racing coilover kits also allow for camber / castor adjustment through the solid top mounts to give additional tuning flexibility.

              Optional BC Racing Damping Extenders

              The BC Racing coilover kits are available to be purchased with rear damping extender cables. If chosen these allow you to adjust the 30 way damping from a more convenient position on the car. Three lengths are available and these can be cut down to size.
